Fire Pump Testing
No-flow churn tests on the interval NFPA 25 sets for your pump type, and the annual flow test that proves the pump still meets its curve.
A fire pump is tested without flowing water on a regular interval, weekly for diesel and for some electric pumps, monthly for the rest, and then flowed once a year against its rated curve. The churn tests can be done by trained building staff and recorded; the annual flow test needs the equipment and the people to do it safely. We do the annual test, review your churn records, and correct the log so a surveyor can follow it.

Common questions
Can our maintenance staff do the weekly churn test?
Yes, once trained, and NFPA 25 allows it. What it needs is a consistent log with the readings the standard asks for. We train the person doing it and check the log at each visit.
